Alleged Robbers Drag Woman With Car, She Refused To Let Go Of Purse

Police said a couple of men inside a car tried to steal the purse of a woman walking into Cielo Vista Mall. When the woman refused to let go of her purse, the men drove away and dragged her while she continues to hold on to her purse, police added.

The incident happened Thursday afternoon. Jeanelle Dolan, 17; and Angel Ramirez, 20, both of the 10700 block of Lydia, are facing a charge of Aggravated Robbery. They were both jailed on $100,000 bonds, police officials said.

According to police, the alleged victim was walking towards the front entrance of Cielo Vista Mall when Ramirez pulled up to her while driving a PT Cruiser. That’s when Dolan jumped out of the passenger side of the car and grabbed the woman’s purse, police officials said.

The woman refused to let go of her purse and Dolan got back into the car while Ramirez drove away, said police. At this point, Dolan and the woman were still struggling for the purse and she was dragged by the car, police added.

The woman let go of the purse and the alleged robbers drove away. Police said she suffered third degree burns throughout portions of her body.

Friday, police said detectives were able to locate Dolan and Ramirez Friday afternoon. They arrested the men and were able to recover some of the woman’s stolen property.
