Juarez Man Arrested After Pot Bust In East-Central El Paso

Police charged a Juarez man with Possession of Marijuana after an investigation led to the seizure of more than 100 pounds of pot at an east-central El Paso home.

Jesus Miguel Carbajal, 42, was jailed on a $60,000 bond Wednesday but has since bonded out, police officials said.

According to police, detectives conducting an investigation went to a house in the 1500 block of Sioux Wednesday afternoon. That’s where they discovered 99 bundles filled with pot inside a Jeep Grand Cherokee with Chihuahua license plates, police said. The Jeep was parked in the home’s driveway.

The total amount of the pot was 114 pounds and police said it has an estimated street value of more than $91,000.
