Shortly before 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 4, Las Cruces Police were called to the 500 block of south Mesquite Street where officers found the victim on the sidewalk, suffering from a stab wound to his torso. Detectives learned that an on-going disagreement between neighbors led to a physical confrontation and Duran allegedly stabbing the victim once in his chest.

Duran fled the area and his whereabouts were unknown until Monday evening.

The 33-year-old victim from Sunday’s stabbing remains at University Medical Center of El Paso. His injuries are not life-threatening and his condition is improving.
