Man Injured In Traffic Crash On Sunday Has Died
A 20-year-old man injured in an early morning crash on Sunday has died.
El Police say Sergio Villa, of the 1100 block of Talon, was driving a 1993 white Honda Civic on I-10 East near mile marker 15.3 when he lost control, causing the Civic to crash into a metal guard rail.
Villa was ejected during the collision and transported to University Medical Center. He died on Wednesday.
The police investigation indicates that speed and failure to wear a seat belt are factors in the collision, police officials said. Alcohol is not suspected in this crash.
This is the 23rd traffic fatality of 2010 compared to 17 at this same time last year.
