Two Separate Crashes Send Five To Hospital

Two separate wrecks this weekend sent five people to the hospital.

The first accident happened Saturday afternoon in Far East El Paso, when a car and truck slammed into each other at Americas and Alameda shortly before 4 p.m.

Emergency dispatchers said four people were hurt, with one in serious condition. As of Sunday morning there was no word on the cause of the crash.

Meanwhile, an early morning drive went horribly wrong in Canutillo when a crash seriously injured one person.

The crash happened around 4:20 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Doniphan and La Mesa. ABC-7 learned emergency crews had to extricate someone from a vehicle, with that person ultimately airlifted to to the hospital.

According to the West Valley Fire Department, the person was a 27-year-old male, and was not wearing a seat belt. Paramedics transported him to University Medical Center in critical condition.

There was no word on the person’s name as of Sunday afternoon. Stay tuned to ABC-7 for any new information.
