UTEP To Stream Commencement Ceremonies On Saturday

For the first time in The University of Texas at El Paso?s 96-year history, the university will offer live streaming video of commencement.

Those who wish to view any or all of the three Spring 2010 Commencement ceremonies live online can go to www.utep.edu and click on the ?Commencement Webcast? link.

?We are providing this service because so many of our graduating students have family members and friends serving overseas in the military,? Beto Lopez, UTEP?s assistant vice president for institutional advancement, said in a news release. ?Streaming video enables everyone who can?t be here in person to celebrate with their graduates in real time.?

More than 2,400 students will graduate from UTEP on Saturday, May 15 at the Don Haskins Center on North Mesa Street. University administrators anticipate this will be the largest graduating class in University history.

Three commencement ceremonies for undergraduate and graduate students will be as follows:

-The 9 a.m. ceremony will honor students in the College of Liberal Arts and University College. -The 2 p.m. ceremony will honor students in the College of Business Administration and College of Education. -The 7 p.m. ceremony will honor students in the College of Engineering, College of Science, College of Health Sciences and School of Nursing.

On Monday, May 17, the ceremonies will be available to view on UTEP?s YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/utep.
