Arrest Made In Sunday Stabbing
El Paso County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested a 34-year-old woman Monday night in the weekend stabbing of a person in Sparks.
Maria Reyna Reyna, of the 1100 block of Peters in Socorro, Texas, was arrested in connection with the Sunday morning.
Sheriff?s deputies were dispatched to a truck stop in the 1300 block of Horizon in far East El Paso County to investigate an aggravated assault that had just occurred. Deputies met with the female reporter/victim and noticed visible injuries to her head area.
The victim told deputies that about 2:30 am, she was confronted outside a residence in Sparks by an unknown female and was violently assaulted with a possible sharp object where she suffered several serious injuries/lacerations to her head, facial area, and left forearm.
During the attack, the victim was able to fend off the attacker and was able to drive off and go to the nearest telephone which was at the truck stop in the 1300 block of Horizon. The victim was transported to University Medical center with serious injuries.
