Man Wanted In Iowa On Sex Charge Arrested In Las Cruces

Las Cruces Police assisted law enforcement in Iowa with the investigation and arrest of a man who allegedly sexually assaulted young girls in Iowa.

Robert Wilson, 54, of the 200 block of Oxford Drive, was arrested May 14, 2010, on a warrant from Iowa that charges him with two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor. Wilson is awaiting extradition to Iowa and is being held at the Dona Ana County Detention Center with cash bond set at $150,000.

Wilson is believed to have moved to New Mexico in 2005 and he is not known to have committed any similar crimes locally, Las Cruces Police said. However, anyone who may have additional information is asked to call Las Cruces Police detectives at (575) 528-4222.
