Operation Bolt: Help Get Rescued Afghanistan Dog To El Paso

A local soldier adopted a dog, “Bolt,” in Afghanistan but is having problems getting the puppy from Washington, D.C. to El Paso.

A viewer wrote in to see if ABC-7 could help find a way to help the dog get transported to El Paso.

American Airlines will only ship when the temperature is less than 85 degrees and that’s the catch. The first flight is at 6:45 a.m.

That means a bighearted, early-rising friend or relative in the Washington, D.C. area is needed.

The person we’re looking for would need to pick Bolt up at a kennel one afternoon, keep him overnight and take him to Dulles International Airport by 5 a.m. The date of the flight is flexible, but the time is not.
