Texas Child Safety Seat Law Begins June 1st

If you have a young child and you don’t have a safety seat, you had better go buy one.

That’s because starting Tuesday, June 1st in El Paso and across the state, police will be enforcing the law that requires children younger than 8 and shorter than 4 feet, 9 inches to be in a booster or child safety seat.

Fines start at $25.00 and climb for every offense. In addition, police are being even more vigilant this week as the “Click It Or Ticket” campaign is underway.
