2 Las Cruces Men Charged With Sexually Assaulting 14-Year-Old Girl

Las Cruces Police have arrested two men for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl who ditched a day of school and became intoxicated with the suspects.

Luis Carlos Guerra and Diego A. Mendez-Parra, both 18, are charged with one count each of criminal sexual penetration of a minor, criminal sexual contact of a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Las Cruces Police detectives said that on the morning of May 21, the 14-year-old girl ditched school and began hanging out with Guerra and Mendez-Parra. The men allegedly offered the girl several alcoholic drinks and she became heavily intoxicated.

The men, who were also drinking alcohol, then allegedly sexually assaulted the girl before dropping her off near her residence.

Guerra and Mendez-Parra were incarcerated at the Dona Ana County Detention Center with bond set at $30,000 each.
