Woman Taken To Hospital After Being Stabbed

An overnight stabbing left one woman injured in East El Paso.

El Paso Police said the stabbing happened at the Ranchland Apartments on Gateway East and Hunter shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday.

According to police on the scene, they found a woman with six stab wounds lying on the ground. Paramedics took her to University Medical Center, but as of Sunday morning there was no word on her condition.

Police said they noticed the suspect trying to escape, but they ended up catching him. They said the suspect may have had a relationship with the victim.

In addition, an officer told ABC-7 the suspect may have used a bottle to stab the woman. As of Sunday morning, investigators had not released the names of either the victim or the suspect.
