County To Hire Firm To Find New Medical Examiner

El Paso County Commissioner’s Court agreed by a vote of 4-0 Monday to hire a search firm to find a new Chief Medical Examiner for the County.

County Human Resources Director Betsy Keller said she contacted University Medical Center to see who they use for recruiting and she also spoke with other physician recruiting organizations about the situation.

She said the estimated cost of hiring a search firm to find medical examiner candidates is between $22,000 to $37,000. The County approved $50,000 for the item, but it is not expected to cost that much. It’s expected to take at least three to six months to find qualified candidates.
