Woman Arrested For DWI After Her Truck Struck By Train

El Paso Police have arrested a 27-year-old for DWI after her vehicle got stuck on train tracks and was hit by a train.

El Paso Police say Roxana Arlett Baez, of the 10200 block of Calcutta in Socorro, was driving a 1998 Ford Explorer Monday morning in the 9400 block of Billy the Kid when she exited the roadway and attempted to drive the vehicle across the railroad tracks and not at a roadway crossing.

The truck became struck on the tracks and Baez abandoned the vehicle and started walking along the tracks.

Officers found Baez walking along the tracks, asking oficers to assist her because she was unable to push the truck herself.

Baez was seen walking along the tracks just moments before her truck was truck by a train, police officials said.

Officers determined that Baez had been operating the vehicle prior to attempting to cross the tracks and she was placed under arrest for DWI. There were no injuries reported and Baez was booked into the El Paso County Jail for DWI and bond was set at $600.
