Man Injured In Early Morning Motorcycle Crash

An early morning ride went wrong for a motorcyclist in far east El Paso early Sunday.

Shortly after 2 a.m., police say a man in his 40s crashed his motorcycle into the back of a pickup truck on Montana, near the intersection with George Dieter.

Paramedics took the man to University Medical Center, where he is expected to be all right. However, the motorcycle was on its side, badly damaged, in the middle of the road.

Police were not sure if alcohol played a part in the crash, but they do say the man was riding quickly. “He was driving at a pretty high rate of speed,” said Officer Mando Gomez of the El Paso Police Department.

The man’s name had not been released by police as of Sunday morning.
