‘Tattoo Bandit’ Robs East Side Bank

At about 11:30 a.m. Monday, a man walked into the Bank of the West at 10400 Montwood, approached a teller and handed her a note demanding money, FBI officials said Monday afternoon.

The teller handed over an undetermined amount of money. The suspect left the note and then fled on foot, and was last seen running south on Yarbrough.

The suspect is described as an Hispanic male in his late 30s, approximately 5-foot-3 with a chubby build, and weighing between 160-170 pounds. He was wearing a gray t-shirt with a star on the front, with blue cargo shorts, dark sunglasses and a blue baseball cap. The suspect has a tattoo on his right arm of a lady with long hair and another tattoo on his left forearm but no description of this tattoo.

This case is being worked by the FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force, which includes the El Paso Police Department and El Paso Sheriff’s Department. If anyone was in the vicinity of this bank and has information about this robbery, please call the FBI at 915-832-5000.

There have been nine bank robberies in El Paso this year, according to FBI officials. Four of the robberies have been solved.
