How To Help Children Of Palomas

THE NEW MEXICO HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT IS CONDUCTING A FOOD DRIVE TO HELP SCHOOL CHILDREN IN PALOMAS, MEXICO.

LAST MAY, ABC-7 BROUGHT ATTENTION TO THE PLIGHT OF AS MANY AS 350 YOUNG AMERICAN CITIZENS LIVING IN MEXICO WHO ATTEND SCHOOL IN THE U-S AND LOSE THEIR REGULAR SCHOOL MEALS DURING SUMMERTIME.

MANY OF THE CHILDREN HAVE FATHERS WHO HAVE BEEN KILLED IN – OR FLED – THE VIOLENT DRUG WAR IN NORTHERN MEXICO.

IF YOU’D LIKE TO DONATE, FOOD IS BEING COLLECTED THROUGH FRIDAY AT THE COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCY OF SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO AT 2320 WESTGATE STREET IN LAS CRUCES.
