Young Boy, Dog Escape Fire At Westside Home

A house fire broke out on El Paso’s west side just before midnight on Friday.

The El Paso Fire Department said they responded to a fire in the 1200 block of Cambria Cove Place. The first units on the scene reported heavy smoke and flames coming from the garage.

The Fire Department said firefighters brought the fire under control in about 15 minutes. There were no injuries reported, but a 13-year-old was able to escape the home with the family dog.

Fire marshal’s office investigators conducted an investigation and determined the fire started in multiple areas, and they ruled the blaze was intentionally set. The investigation is still ongoing.

Total damages are estimated at more than $140,000 and the home was ruled unlivable due to structural damage.
