Court Documents: Former Teacher Made Child Porn at School

Documents filed last Friday in federal court allege former Irvin High School dance teacher Marco Alferez, 34, made child pornography on a school campus.

Alferez is accused of having what is known as ‘commercial’ child porn along with 182 homemade videos on his home computer. Federal agents say they also found 107 8mm tapes and 14 VHS tapes.

In the documents uncovered by the ABC-7 I-Team, prosecutors allege in “at least two video segments,” Alferez is seen “having sexual intercourse with young girls – one time at his home and another time on school property.”

The paperwork does not say which school appears in the video and prosecutors want to keep it that way.

The 12 pages of documents are part of a protective order filed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office asking to keep the victims’ names under wraps.

The order asks for the use pseudonyms for both victims and witnesses “in an effort to protect the privacy and reputation of the minors involved, to minimize additional emotional trauma which likely would result from publication of their identities, and to minimize any personal embarrassment the minors will experience.”

Before teaching at Irvin, Alferez also taught at Austin High School, Camino Real Middle School and Scotsdale Elementary School.

During a hearing in September, a federal agent testified that during the raid of his home, Alferez made a tearful confession at his kitchen table, saying he was “relieved to have been caught.”

He is due back in court next Thursday.
