Police: Store Clerk Arrested For Credit Card, Debit Card Abuse
STORE CLERK ARRESTED FOR CREDIT/DEBIT CARD ABUSE

El Paso Police have arrested 18-year-old Alfonso Silva after an investigation revealed that he had allegedly overcharged a 70-year-old female with a “cash back” charge that she never requested or received.
Back in October, the woman entered the Circle K on the 6900 block of Escondido and purchased $13 in lottery tickets but was charged $18 after Silva entered a $5 “cash back” transaction, police said. The woman did not realize she was overcharged until she got home.
Police said during the investigation detectives learned that the store manager had received other similar complaints against Silva. Police arrested Silva on Nov. 12 and booked him into the El Paso County Detention Facility on a single charge of Credit Card/ Debit Card Abuse Elderly ( Felony ) His bond was set at: $5,000.
Police would like to remind the public to review all credit/debit card receipts at the time of sale and handle any discrepancies at that time. Thus far in 2010 the El Paso Police Department has documented 1052 cases of reported Credit Card Debit Card Abuse, 19 of those were targeted at the Elderly.
