Police: Las Cruces Man Allegedly Threaten Ex With Hunting Knife

Las Cruces Police arrested a man late Saturday evening after he allegedly threatened his ex-girlfriend with a hunting knife.

Victor Manuel Pinedo, 24, of the 1800 block of Alameda Boulevard, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against a household member and battery against a household member.

Las Cruces Police said that on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, Pinedo went to the residence where his ex-girlfriend was staying and held the woman against her will with a large knife to her neck.

The victim’s mother was able to convince Pinedo to drop the knife.

Pinedo allegedly struck the victim at least once with a closed fist and then fled the area. He was located and detained by police later that evening.

Pinedo was booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center with cash bonds totaling $11,000.
