KVIA Reporters Earn Emmy Nominations

KVIA reporters Paul Cicala, Angela Kocherga and cameraman Hugo Perez were nominated for an Emmy from the Lone Star chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for their excellence in reporting the border and border issues.

KVIA’s Cicala was nominated for Feature News Report-Serious Series, for his three part series “Drug War Along El Paso’s Border and How it Compares to Medellin, Colombia During the Pablo Escobar Era”

Kocherga and Perez, of the Belo Border Bureau, were nominated in the Crime-News Single Story/Series/Feature for their reports on Juarez paramedics; Specialty Assignment Report-News Series for their reports on border bloodshed; and On-camera Talent/Reporter-Specialty Assignment Report/Consumer/Medical for their reports on the drug war.
