Man Charged In Connection With Late-Night Murder
El Paso Police have arrested and charged 21-year-old Ruben Canales with murder.
According to police, Canales allegedly stabbed 39-year-old Gerardo Juarez to death around 10 p.m Friday.
Investigators said Canales and Juarez were at a home on the 200 block of Maravilla Drive when a verbal altercation turned violent.
That’s when police said Canales grabbed a knife from the kitchen area of the home.
According to investigators, a struggle over the knife ensued and resulted in Juarez being stabbed in the right rear torso.
Juarez was transported to Del Sol Medical Center were he later died.
Canales was booked into the El Paso County Jail for the offense of murder and his bond was set at $500,000.
Police say this is the fourth Murder of 2012.
