Crash Claims 1 Life In East El Paso County

A two-vehicle wreck ended with one life lost early Sunday morning in far east El Paso County.

Three adults and two children were riding in a Suburban along Buntline Road when a Ford Mustang driving on Marvin Road struck them after failing to stop at a stop sign around 4:30 a.m. Manny Marquez, a public information officer with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, tells ABC-7 that speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in that crash.

One passenger inside the Suburban died as a result of the crash; however, investigators did not reveal whether that individual was one of the adults or a child.

The driver of the Mustang was detained at the scene.

No further details have been released pertaining to the injuries of the other individuals inside the Suburban. The driver of the Mustang was not injured.
