El Paso Sheriff’s Officials Identify Driver Who Allegedly Caused Deadly Wreck

El Paso County Sheriff’s officials said Fernando Varela drove his Mustang through a stop sign early Saturday, allegedly plowing into a Suburban with six passengers, two of them children.

Deputies said the crash happened around 4:30 a.m. in the Montana Vista neighborhood at the intersection of Buntline and Marvin Lane.

According to sheriff’s officials, Sergio Aguayo, a passenger, was ejected from a side-window of the Suburban and died at the scene.
