At The Drive-In Playing Warmup Show In Marfa
Update: The show sold out in less than 30 minutes.
Previous story: El Paso band At the Drive-In are set to play a warmup show in Marfa, Texas on April 12.
The gig will be the band’s first show since going on indefinite hiatus 11 years ago. Ballroom Marfa, known for hosting some of music’s biggest names, has not officially revealed that ATDI will perform but they retweeted ATDI’s “have trigger, will travel” tweet from yesterday as a hint of who the April 12 musical act will be.
Tickets will go on sale at www.ballroommarfa.org at noon El Paso time.
On Wednesday, ATDI tweeted a map of Texas with a star in the Marfa area. Each time the band has posted a map in the past they have revealed a show date on that map soon after.
ATDI will be performing at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on April 15 and April 22 a warm-up show a few days before would seem to make sense.
At the Drive-In is slated to play other festivals in Europe and Japan later this year.
Marfa is just under 200 miles southeast of El Paso.
