El Paso County Sportspark Renovations Revealed Today

El Paso County Commissioners are expected to see the new renderings of the future county sportspark Monday morning.

Parkhill, Smith & Cooper has been collaborating with County Commissioner Anna Perez and the County Sportspark team over how the new park will look. That’s the team the county put in place in July 2011 which took over the renovation project from Big League Dreams, LLC.

That company was supposed to turn the sportspark fields into mini replicas of major league parks. But the deal fell through when it appeared the cost might soar from less than $10 million to as much as $15 million.

The new design is now expected to be revealed to commissioners during their public meeting at 9:30 a.m. Monday in Commissioners Court Chambers on the third floor of the El Paso County Courthouse.
