Metereologist / Weathercaster / Reporter Job Opening
Looking for an energetic, charismatic & talented weekend weathercaster in sunny El Paso. I prefer one or two years of real world experience, but will consider novices. We`ve uncovered some amazing talent coming out of college and are open to the possibilities.
You`ll work for Good Morning El Paso Weekend – the only weekend newscast in the market. The other three days, you`ll join a fantastic team of journalists and contribute to our newscasts and/or our online product (that is, when you`re not filling in for our other meteorologists when they`re off, and there`s a lot of fill-in).
AMS, NWA seals and meteorological degrees would be great additions to your credentials, but are not deal-breakers. You must demonstrate, though, that you can identify the weather story of the day, and convey it to viewers in a credible and animated way. We expect you to have working knowledge of weather and climate, and the capacity to get the best out of our system.
We are serious about weather. We support our weather department 365 days a year -not just during severe weather events- and promote our StormTrack team aggressively.
As for the station, don`t let our market size fool you. KVIA is a very strong, progressive station. Our owners understand the business and are willing to spend money to help us maintain our dominance in the market. We offer a generous 401K plan and a fantastic PTO (paid time off) plan that awards extra vacation time to employees who don`t abuse their sick leave.
Please send me your rsum, references and a link to your work showcasing your winning personality at work on the air. My address is andkvia@yahoo.com.
Go ahead and check out our website, www.kvia.com. Some of it is under construction, but you`ll get a feel for our product there.
Good luck!
