Crime Decreases In 3 Areas Of El Paso

Crime has decreased in the Lower Valley, Central, and West Side areas of El Paso during the first four months of the year, according to the El Paso Police Department.

The Lower Valley has seen a decrease in overall crime by 15 percent compared to this same time last year. The Lower Valley also has seen a 50 percent decrease in burglary of vehicles and a 33 percent decrease in burglaries.

Central El Paso has seen an overall decrease of 5 percent, including a 21 percent decrease in burglaries and 17 percent decrease in the number of vehicle thefts.

West El Paso has seen a 4 percent decrease in overall crime, including a 20 percent decrease in the number of robberies and a 17 percent decrease in burglary of vehicles.
