Grandma Trying Out For Dallas Cowboys Cheerleading Squad

Sharon Simmons, a 55-year-old grandmother of two, spent the weekend trying to fulfill a 22-year-old dream by trying out for the Dallas Cowboys cheerleading squad.

The Carrollton, Texas resident didn’t try out more than 20 years ago because of lack of money, no outfit, and child care issues. This weekend’s tryouts wasn’t without its issues. Simmons forgot part of her routine during the freestyle part of the tryout.

If she makes the squad, she will be 56 when the season starts – 14 years older than the previous oldest cheerleader for the Cowboys.
