Baby Mauled To Death By Pit Bull Laid To Rest In Las Cruces
The Las Cruces community flocked to Hillcrest Memorial Gardens to remember the life of baby Jazilyn Nevaeh Mesa Tuesday morning.
The 15-month-old’s life was cut short when she was attacked by the family’s 2-year-old pit bull Tyson last week.
Jazlin’s great aunt Lucy Dunn remembered the child who just one week ago shared her smiles and laughs with those around her.
“(She) was a baby … who was called to death before her time. And for the fact, how it was done, it was such great response from the community. All I can say is thank you,” Dunn said.
Tyson was shot by a neighbor in an attempt to save Jazilyn.
