Jaiden Kiing Valenzuela, the 2-year-old who survived a car crash that killed his family on Wednesday, has died.

Jerry Rivas, stepfather of Andrew Valenzuela, the driver of one of the vehicles in the fatal crash, said Jaiden died at 2:15 p.m. Friday.

Valenzuela died at the scene after the car he was driving crashed into a white pickup truck Wednesday morning at the intersection of Vinton Road and Westside Drive just West of Anthony, N.M.

Valenzuela’s girlfriend, 21-year-old Karla Diaz, was eight months pregnant with their baby girl and was also injured in the crash, along with the couple’s son, Jaiden. Diaz was due in just two weeks.

Doctors induced labor at University Medical Center of El Paso, but Diaz and their baby girl died Wednesday. Jaiden had suffered serious head trauma and a stroke from the crash.
