Two Men Caught In Act Of Robbery

Two young men are behind bars accused of two separate aggravated robberies.

Fernie Villescas, 22, and Julio McDonald, 19, were arrested early Saturday after police said they witnessed them rob a 7-Eleven.

Initially Crimes Against Persons investigators were called around 1 a.m. To the Circle K store on the 6900 block of Escondido. A description of the two men was transmitted over the radio, along with a possible vehicle they were driving. That’s when police investigators spotted them a few minutes drive down the road at a 7-Eleven.

According to a public information officer, the officer pulled into the store and witnessed one of the men grabbing money out of the cash register of that store while displaying a knife.

Both men were promptly arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated robbery each. Other charges are still pending.

Police have not released pictures of the men as they continue to put together lineups for potential witnesses to observe and ID both Villescas and McDonald.
