Las Cruces Police Say Man Charged After Throwing Rock Through Ex-Girlfriend’s Window

Las Cruces Police arrested a man they say allegedly threw a rock through the window of a vehicle carrying his ex-girlfriend and their two children.

Daniel A. Jurado-Estrada, 25, of the 5100 block of Creek Trail, is charged with two counts of negligent child abuse and one count of aggravated assault against a household member.

Shortly after 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, Las Cruces Police were called to the Mesilla Valley Mall parking lot. According to police, Jurado-Estrada and his ex-girlfriend were leaving the mall with their two children when they got into an argument.

The woman then got into her vehicle with the children when Jurado-Estrada allegedly threw a rock through the passenger-side window.

The woman and two children were not injured.

Jurado-Estrada was booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center with bond set at $10,000.
