Fight Night Forecast: Possible Showers & Storms

You may want to pack your poncho for the big Chavez Jr.-Lee boxing match at the Sun Bowl Saturday night.

ABC-7 meteorologist Jennifer Myers is calling for a 30% chance of showers until about 6 p.m. Saturday evening, then chances decrease to 20% for the remainder of the night.

The biggest threats with these storms will be winds gusting to 60 mph and localized heavy rainfall.

Temperatures will remain in the upper 80s throughout the fight, but if rain does develop it will cool things down into the upper 70s and low 80s.

If rain or storms do develop, remember, no umbrellas will be allowed in the stadium. Also, neighboring storms could cause winds to kick up in and around the area and that could pose a problem for the outdoor venue.

ABC-7 will be keeping a close eye on the forecast and radar all afternoon during our newscasts. For the latest weathercast between newscasts, follow us @ABC7StormTRACK and @JenMyersWeather.
