Officials said Monday the worker tried to bring 26 grams of cocaine and 46 grams of heroin into the Southern New Mexico Corrections Facility in Las Cruces, where she worked as a contract food service employee.

The woman’s name wasn’t released. Officials say she has yet to be formally charged but that she’ll face six felony counts related to drug trafficking.

Authorities made the bust after listening to a phone conversation between the woman and an inmate they identified as Frank Morales.

Authorities say the pair may have tried to smuggling in drugs at least once.
