Family: Wife – Jeannie, Three children, Five grandchildren
Number one campaign focus: Restoring the public’s trust in the EPISD School Board.
What sets me apart from my opponents?: Thirty-eight years in the teaching/administrating profession, and forty-two years making decisions on the fields and courts as a college/high school football, basketball, and volleyball official.
Relevant experience: Sixteen years at UTEP as a teacher/administrator responsible for budgeting, hiring, supervising of twenty-five to thirty employees every semester, policy forming and implementing, and setting and following through on five year plans. Twenty-two years in high school and middle school classrooms as teacher and part-time administrator.
Describe a moment that changed my life: The marriage to my wife, the births of our three children, and the births of our five grandchildren are all equal moments in my life.
How will I balance the needs of my family, career and office?: My children are all married; I am retired; therefore, I have all the time and energy needed to fulfill my duties as a school board member.
When and why did I come to El Paso?: I came to El Paso in August, 1964, to obtain a degree from Texas Western College, and to play basketball and baseball. I accomplished all three goals.
