EPPD: Argument between brothers led to gunfire

El Paso police are investigating reports of gunfire in northeast El Paso

Police were on the scene around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday night at the Villa Real apartment on the 8900 block of Herbert Street.

An officer at the scene told our Round the Clock reporter, David Concha, that it started when two brothers got in an argument and one of them fired a gun.

No injuries were reported, but police blocked off the parking lot as they searched for a vehicle possibly involved in the incident.

A man at the scene also spoke with our reporter, who says his daughter is the girlfriend of one of the brothers supposedly involved. He says he feared something like this would happen, and that his daughter and her boyfriend were heading home from a family cookout when the brothers got into an argument.

Police say it was inside the apartment where the gun went off.

Police have not yet disclosed whether anyone was charged or taken into custody.
