Former NM “High School Player of the Year” Back In Jail
She’s a one-time New Mexico “State High School Player of the Year” who shocked her fellow Las Crucens when she stabbed her mother and sister numerous times in 2006.
The ABC-7 New Mexico Mobile Newsroom has learned Carissa McGee is once again in jail.
McGee’s mother and sister survived the stabbing attack, but she was sentenced to 21 years in prison.
She served time in Grants, New Mexico and moved to Albuquerque after her release in May 2014 when the remainder of her sentence was suspended.
ABC-7 has confirmed McGee violated probation in October 2014 when she contacted a witness in the case, her girlfriend at the time of the stabbings.
Monday, a district judge modified the probation by allowing Mcgee to have contact with the woman, but it is still unclear how much longer McGee will stay in jail.
McGee was a three sport high school star athlete at Mayfield High School, where she excelled in basketball, volleyball and track.
McGee led the basketball team to a state championship and was awarded “player of the year” honors twice.
