Estela’s Escuelas: School officials eat Century Eggs
Mesa Vista Elementary School’s councilor and the assistant principal sacrificed their taste buds to praise students for exceeding their sales goal during their February book fair.
The officials ate Century Eggs to keep their end of the deal.
Students met a sales goal of $2,800 and even surpassed it, selling over $3,800 during their book fair.
The eggs are a Chinese delicacy that are fermented for several months causing the egg to turn black and emit a strong odor.
Assistant principal, Heather Karns said they were “disgusting,” but they were willing to do whatever it takes to motivate the students.
