At least 5 service members injured in accident on Fort Bliss

At least five people – all service members – were injured in an accident on Fort Bliss.

Lt. Col. Lee Peters tells ABC-7 there was an accident involving several vehicles in a training area on Fort Bliss.

They were taken to William Beaumont Army Medical Center, and there’s no information on their condition at this time.

The accident happened between 1:30 and 2 p.m. Thursday.

Initially, they thought the accident may have involved troops participating in a massive military exercise underway on post called “Iron Focus,” but now they know that wasn’t the case.
