Police: Man responsible for SWAT situation is armed, possibly suicidal

Police say the man responsible for a SWAT situation on the West Side is armed and on the loose.

Jesus Marrufo, 23, may be suicidal, according to investigators. Marrufo allegedly assaulted a relative Thursday morning on the 300 block of Olivia. The victim told police Marrufo choked her.

Friday afternoon, the victim told police Marrufo was breaking into her home on the 6000 block of Cabrillo in west El Paso. The woman said she believed Marrufo was trying to get a weapon inside the home.

When police arrived, they noticed signs of forced entry. The SWAT and Crisis Management Team arrived at the home, but was not able to find Marrufo.

Marrufo is wanted on a charge of Assault/Family Violence.
