New principals start at Bowie, Coronado high schools on May 1

El Paso Independent School District El Paso Independent School District Superintendent Juan Cabrera on Friday announced new principals for Bowie and Coronado high schools.

Dr. Michael Warmack, the current principal at Lincoln Middle School, is the new principal at Bowie; and Angela Henderson, the current principal at Hornedo Middle School, has been named principal at Coronado.

Warmack and Henderson will start their new positions on May 1 and will help in the transition process as replacements are hired at their at their current positions, district officials said in a news release.

The principal positions at Lincoln and Hornedo will be posted immediately and go through the normal hiring process.

“Bowie and Coronado are at critical junctures in their respective histories and we have found leaders we know will bring a heightened level of commitment to these two campuses,” Cabrera said. “Both Dr. Warmack and Ms. Henderson have storied tenures in EPISD, and we are lucky to be able to tap into their institutional knowledge and well-deserved reputations to help us lead these two campuses forward.”

Warmack has been principal at Lincoln since last year. Before that, he served as principal at Zach White Elementary for two years and as assistant principal for guidance and instruction at Jefferson High School.

Warmack graduated from UTEP and earned a doctorate of educational leadership and administration from UTEP in 2008.

Henderson has been principal at Hornedo since 2008. She served as assistant principal at Brown and Hornedo middle schools before that. Henderson has a bachelors degree in education from Toccoa Falls College in Georgia and a masters in education administration from UTEP.
