Why was Timberwolf Roundabout Removed?

problems. it all started when the city built a round-a-bout at timberwolf and mathias in central el paso. the streets are just north of montana and trowbridge. this is a google earth image of what the round-a-bout looked like. it is no longer there because the city removed it. this is new video abc-7 recorded today. you can see the fresh asphalt where the round-a-bout used to be. we asked city rep larry romero what was going on? he said many drivers were simply ignoring the round-a-bout … driving right over it. school bus drivers were also complaing, saying it was a nightmare trying to get around it. now, the city is back to square one: larry romero: “i know a lot o people have called my office and expressed some concern that now that the roundabout is gone some people are going to go back to speeding down timberwolf. But we are in talks with the traffic department to see what we can do to control the traffic, control the speed limit because that is very important.” romero tells abc-7 speed bumps might be the solution at timberwolf and mathias instead of roundabouts. it cost the city 35- thousand dollars to install the traffic circle in 2011. we don’t know yet how much it cost to remove it. an el paso native is in the running
