El Paso Inc.: Sunland Park official ousted from home

A member of the Sunland Park City Council and his wife have been ordered out of a five-bedroom house in the Rancho del Rio development where they’ve lived without paying rent since 2008.

New Mexico federal bankruptcy Judge David Thuma signed writs Thursday telling federal marshals to assist in removing Francisco Javier Jayme, a city councilor, and Alicia Rojas, his wife, from the house at 105 Thoroughbred and turn it over to owners Joe and Rosana Monge.

In doing so, Thuma was following through on orders El Paso federal District Court Judge Phillip Martinez entered last month that needed to be executed by a judge in New Mexico.
