Gas has risen by six cents in the borderland in the last week

The average gas prices in El Paso have risen 5.9 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.58 a gallon Sunday, according to GasBuddy.com. This, compared to the national average that increased only 5 cents last week.

Patrick DeHaan, GasBuddy senior petroleum analyst, says, “while higher demand is expected for this Memorial Day weekend, crude oil inventories remain plentiful and stand some 86 million barrels higher than a year ago.”

All 50 states still stand lower than a year ago.
