Children’s board chair unavailable for comment, other resign

with rosemary castillo, board char at the children’s hospital. her assistant says she’s not at work or available — and won’t be for days. we did reach sam legate — now former board member. he tells abc-7 he resigned yesterday — the same day the bankruptcy was announced. he says he supports castillo in everything, but just can’t dedicate the time need as the hospital undergoes bankruptcy. legate joined the children’s board from its inception. before then, he served seven years in the u-m-c board. the umc e-r bears his name and that of attorney jim scherr.
