Wet N Wild announces new attractions $1.6 million investment

is announcing they are kicking off their season with new attractions. the renovations come with a pricetag of more than a million dollars abc-7’s jerry najera spoke with management to talk about the business of water entertainment here in the borderland: if you take a look from the freeway on this day wet and wild looks pretty calm but once you get closer you can see crews clearing land, working on landscaping and painting. the water park is getting ready for the summer season and unveiling the new atlantis adveture area. “what we did is take and area of the park completely bull dozered down to the ground and raised back of with a multitude of rides and attractions” for the kiddos there’s a jungle gym of sorts. slides-spashing water barrels and this new vip area for birthdays and private parties. general manager shandra cottingham tells me with an average attendance of over 200 hundred thousand people a season-they are trying to meet the regions needs. “including our expansion and this new area it was just under two million dollars” cottingham says this is part of a long range plan for the park with new attractions. “and with the park as whole we anticipate over a 22 million dollar impact over the next five years” and with the city looking into placing splash pads like this throughout the city we wanted to know if the park is worried about it cutting into their business. cottingham says — not at all. “i think that’s a great idea i think thats a really good quality of life enhancement for el paso we obviously offer a lot more than that, we got really fun an exciting attractions that people can come out and enjoy” gn abc- our story from
