Man burns foot in apartment-complex fire

Fire officials are trying to determine what caused a fire that sent a man to a hospital Wednesday night in West El Paso.

Crews responded to the Warren Properties Apartments about 11:27 p.m. after neighbors reported seeing smoke coming from the second and third floors of the apartment complex’s front building.

Fourteen units and a total 33 firefighters put the fire out about 45 minute later.

All the units were evacuated safely, but a 25-year old man suffered a small, second-degree burn to his right foot and was taken to a nearby hospital. There were no other injuries.

The fire, which was contained to the attic and part of the third floor caused $75,000 worth of damage.
