Water Line Breaks at Sierra Providence East, Visitors Asked To Leave

Sierra Providence East asked visitors to leave Sunday after a water line broke in its second floor, according to hospital officials.

It happened shortly after 2 p.m. Crews repaired the line shortly after 4 p.m. Patient care was not compromised, officials said.

The hospital is in far east El Paso on the 3200 block of Joe Battle Blvd.

The hospital’s emergency department remains open to walk-in patients only. Emergency medical service is currently being diverted to other local hospitals, officials said.

Visitors will be allowed to return to the hospital as soon as the clean-up is completed.

Water damage is limited to the hospital’s first and second floors.
